Program Description

A consortium agreement on the Bachelor of Science, Major in Interior Design was signed on September 28, 1994 between the College of Saint Benilde and the Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID). Consequently, CSB students in this four-year program take the general courses in the College during the first five trimesters, and the major courses at the PSID for the remaining seven trimesters.

The program primarily aims to develop skills that enable graduates to begin a career in interior design.

Goals

The Bachelor of Science, Major in Interior Design program was designed to develop imagination, creativity and innovation in the field of interior design. It familiarizes students with methods and tools of design and the arts and fosters a deep appreciation of the art and aesthetics involved in design. It seeks to promote environmental concern in the choice of materials for interior furnishing and space planning, and to ensure the mastery of design skills necessary to interpret the physical and emotional requirements of users for the improvement of their way of life.

Special Notes

Applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program as freshmen or transferees are governed by the same policies and procedures applied to any student seeking admission to the College of Saint Benilde.

Due to different school calendars, CSB students may start attending classes at PSID only after they have passed all the required general education courses. Similarly, PSID students who wish to pursue the Interior Design program may enroll at CSB for the general education courses only after they have completed the required professional and cognate courses at the PSID.

Interior design graduate diplomas will bear the names of the two institutions: De La Salle University - College of Saint Benilde, in consortium with the Philippine School of Interior Design.

The provisions of the CSB Student Handbook are applied to the PSID students enrolled in CSB for the B.S. Interior Design Program. Likewise, CSB students enrolled in PSID for this program are bound by the policies and regulations of PSID, and of the CSB Student Handbook.
